The Day Hurricane Helene Hit Was A Nightmare
The day Hurricane Helene hit was a nightmare. While driving along Highway 26, I had to dodge trees crashing down onto the road and steer clear of debris blowing across my path, including a huge orange cone barrel that suddenly shot in front of me. The relentless rain, fierce winds, and flooding had me praying for safety, hoping the Lord would watch over me.
Despite the chaos, I mustered all the willpower I had to reach my first stop in Ridgefield, where I could finally find shelter until the storm eased up a bit. I managed to complete my route, but I couldn’t make it back to the terminal. With Hurricane Helene blocking every path, I had no choice but to take refuge inside my 26-foot box truck, braving the entire night in the cab until the storm finally passed.
